This is a great opportunity for undergraduate students to showcase their research or other scholarly or creative projects in the form of poster presentations, art displays, theatrical or musical performances from: 

• Undergraduate Research Grants
• Research from other programs such as King Chavez Scholars, McNair Scholars, and Honors, among others.
• Independent Study
• Research done for class credit
• Performing arts (literary readings, theatre, music or dance)
• Visual arts (art exhibit)

There should only be one registration per research poster, musical performance, theatrical performance, and art work displays. For example, if you have 5 people on your project team and 1 poster or performance, there should be one registration form submitted. If you are on a project team of 5 but you have 5 posters or presentations, then 5 registration forms should be submitted.

Poster Template and Guidelines

• Posters should not exceed 40 X 40 inches in size.
• Please use this template when creating 40 X 40 standard posters: General poster template
• Please use the 11 X 17 template when participating in the CURE/RAP Corner: 11 X 17 Template
• Type in your own text in the suggested text boxes, or copy and paste text from a Word Document. Spell-check your text.
• Use a font between 24-32 points in Arial, Helvetica, or equivalent 'standard' fonts for text. You want the text to be big and clear, and easily read from a distance.
• Keep text either left or right aligned within each text box. Do not justify text. Keep font size consistent.
• Choose a text color that is easy to read against the background, but avoid bright complicated background designs as they may not print correctly.
• Highlight specific sections with headings (and other appropriate visual tools) to help organize thoughts.
• Each figure or graph should be accompanied by a corresponding legend. The legend should summarize the main point/conclusion of the figure or graph.

Printing and Laminating a Poster

• Have your mentor review (you may have to go through this process multiple times) and approve it.
• . The lab will convert your pptx file to a suitable format for the printer. You can request to see a copy of this file (to check for color and accuracy) before printing. This is especially important if your poster contains special fonts (e.g., scientific symbols) or has complicated graphics.
• The Undergraduate Research Program covers the fee of your poster.
• Allow at least 2 working days between submitting your request and digital file for printing and Laminating to be completed.
